I don’t know about you, but I like to save as much money as possible. Feeding four growing boys gets expensive, so I’ll take all the help I can get!

Being a stay-at-home mom, I have had to find creative ways to stretch our budget. Our grocery budget is one of our biggest expenses, but it’s hard to cut back when you have four boys that seem to NEVER stop eating. I also know that it’s only going to get worse, as they get older. That’s why I love apps that save me money on groceries and other purchases. Not only do they help me save money, but it’s almost like a game to see exactly how much I can save in a month. Some of these apps are ones I use all the time and others are ones I found recently, but haven’t tried out yet.
Most of you have probably heard of Ibotta, and already have this app, but if you don’t, it’s definitely one you should get! It offers cash back on items you are already buy. Not only can you get rebates from grocery stores, but they also offer rebates at some department stores and restaurants, too. You can be paid through PayPal, Venmo or convert your rebates into a gift card. I usually transfer my money to my PayPal account, and it’s pretty instant! Another thing that is great about Ibotta are the teamwork and extra bonuses you can earn when you are linked up with your friends. What’s even better? If you join through my referral link you will receive a $10 welcome bonus!
WALMART SAVINGS CATCHER
If you shop at Walmart, you need to download this app! The saving aren’t huge, but it couldn’t be easier to earn them. After shopping, just scan your receipt and Walmart will compare the prices against local competitor ads. If there is a lower price found, Walmart adds the difference to your account. You can then redeem your money for a Walmart eGift Card. The most I have gotten back was $4.81, from a single shopping trip, where I spent $240. So, you don’t get back a ton, and sometimes you don’t get anything back, but it never hurts to try! It can take up to 24 hours for your eGift Card to be emailed to you.
Saving Star is a lot like Ibotta, but unlike Ibotta, you can redeem offers from anywhere. They aren’t store specific. As long as you follow the guidelines of the rebate, and have an itemized receipt, you can redeem the offer. For stores that offer loyalty cards, you just have to link them to your Saving Star account. When you scan your card at checkout, the offer applies to your account, as long as you have activated the offer ahead of time. Once you have $5 in your account, you can either have it deposited into your bank account, PayPal, or redeem it for a gift card. It can take up to 22 days for your redeemed offers to show up in your account.
Checkout 51 is a lot like Saving Star and Ibotta. Some of the offers are store specific and some aren’t, but the ones that are will be listed right above the offer. Even if I haven’t bought any of the current offers, I always upload my receipt because you have a chance to win $500. This giveaway is usually listed at the bottom of the rebates. Once you have reached $20 in rewards, you can request payout, which comes in the form of a check. Pretty old school, but money’s money!
FIND & SAVE
With Find & Save, you can earn a percentage back from various stores. The offers change weekly and can be anywhere from 1% to a certain dollar amount for completing it. Most offers are locked, and you have to watch a video to unlock them and find out what the offer actually is. Each offer is different, as far as what you must do to complete it, and what you will earn once you do. You can enable notifications, and it will notify you if you are close to a Find & Save deal. I haven’t earned much money back, from this app, but if you shop at the stores that pop up, you might do better. Once you have reached $25, you can request a payout through PayPal.
Mobi Save is another app that is a lot like Ibotta, but not store specific. It has you input your zip code and gives you offers based on the area you live in. You must select offers BEFORE you checkout or they won’t count. Once you select an offer, you have 7 days to redeem it, before it expires. New items are added randomly, so make sure to check your app often. A great thing about Mobi Save, is that it offers a lot of “any brand” items, meaning you don’t have to buy a specific name brand. So, if you are like me, and shop at Aldi, where there aren’t a ton of name brand items, this is great! I just downloaded this app, but it looks like you get paid, through PayPal, every time an offer is approved. That sounds great, because it means you don’t have to wait until you reach a certain threshold. Join Mobi Save here.
Fetch Rewards is an app I just discovered, but it looks really neat! With this app, you earn points for different purchases that can then be redeemed for gift cards. Even though it’s not straight cash, you can redeem it for a gift card to Amazon, Target, Walmart, and various other stores, so it’s pretty much the same thing. To earn points, you just scan your receipt, and if you have purchased any of the qualifying brands, points will be added to your account. They also have a special offers section that allows you to earn bonus points. There are a lot of brands, on their list, that we love, so I can’t wait to see how fast the rewards add up. I plan to stock up on gift cards to use for Christmas gifts! Download the app here and use referral code C3AXV to get 1,500 fetch points ($1.50worth of points). You can redeem gift cards with as little as 3,000 points.
Receipt Hog is an app I had a while ago, but forgot to download again when I got a new phone. Unfortunately, I can’t remember my log in info. They have had so many people request to join that there is now a wait list. Hopefully I get approved soon, because not only can you earn money with Receipt Hog, you also get to play fun slot games, to earn more coins. With Receipt Hog, you just upload your receipts and with some of them you earn coins and some you earn spins on the hog slots, where you can earn more coins. You can redeem your coins for an Amazon e-gift card, a magazine subscription (US only) or have it deposited into your PayPal account. It says redemption requests are approved within 7 days, so it’s not instant, but it doesn’t take that long, either.
Ebates is an awesome app you can use to earn rebates while shopping online. To earn rebates from Ebates (I’m a poet!) you go to the Ebates app or website and then click-through to the website you want to shop from. There are a ton of different places to shop from and each one offers a different percentage back. There are some that also offer bonus cash back, if you spend a certain amount. If you sign up for their emails, they will let you know when certain stores have a higher cash back percentage or bonus offer. Ebates is a great app to use everyday, but it’s also great to remember during the holiday season, when you may be doing a lot of online shopping. Join through my referral link and get $10 after you spend your first $25 online (you have a year to do this). Ebates mails out rebate checks on May 15, August 15, November 15, and February 15 for rebates earned the previous quarter.
Massdrop does not have an app, but it’s website is mobile friendly. This isn’t a website where you earn cash back, but it can save you money, if you are interested in the products they offer. I found out about Massdrop through the planner community and was able to buy 3 Leuchtturm1917 A5 notebooks for $54.74. At the time I bought them, I had just bought one, from Amazon, for $30 and all the other colors I wanted were sold out. With Massdrop, you join a deal, and the more people who join, the lower the price drops. There is waiting involved, because you have to wait for the drop to close, and the items to be ordered, before you receive them, but if you aren’t in a hurry, you can save money with this website. They offer a few different categories of items, and just recently added a cooking category. Check it out and see if they have products you may be interested in. Join through my referral link to get in on the deals!
With these apps, a lot of offers overlap, so you can end up earning quite a bit of cash back, in a single shopping trip. I really wish I knew about these apps when my little one was still in diapers, because I could have saved a ton of money! What apps do you use to help you save money? I would love to know about any I may be missing out on!
