Well, hello there! I’m guessing you’ve come to this page because you want to learn a little more about me. Settle in with your favorite drink (I personally prefer coffee) and I’ll try to keep this short and sweet.
If it isn’t already obvious by my blog name, I am the mother of four boys. To say that we live in constant chaos is an understatement. My husband, Clint, travels quite a bit with his job, so most of the time I am the only adult, at home, to tame these wild monkeys. Yes, this is my circus and these are my monkeys.
Zach is 12, plays the cello in the school orchestra, and loves soccer. He also loves to hide in his room and play video games and sleep. Sometimes I forget he’s even here.
Jordan is 10, plays the trumpet in the school band and loves doing puzzles. He also loves pushing my buttons. He is very much a miniature version of his father.
Everett is 7, a real sweetie most of the time and apparently engaged to the little girl down the street. I think she sees him more than I do sometimes.
Nolan is almost 5 and very much the spoiled baby. He’ll start Kindergarten, in the fall, and I am counting down the days until I have just a little bit of freedom during the day! It’s not that I don’t love my kids, but HOLY CRAP Momma needs to be able to breathe without someone asking her what she’s doing!
Why start a blog?
When Zach and Jordan were little, I used to make and decorate cakes for people. It was a side thing, nothing serious, but I really enjoyed it. When we moved, our kitchen got smaller, and we ended up adding two more children to our family, so I stopped. I didn’t want the stress that came with making a cake for someone’s special day while trying to wrangle four young kids.
In the fall, all of my boys will be in school and I’ll have more time to do things I enjoy. While I still don’t want the stress of making things for other people, I thought it would be really fun to start getting creative again and maybe help some of you learn how to do it yourselves! I also enjoy being crafty, in other areas, so I plan to share some of that, along with a little bit of our crazy life, with you, too.
